What did you do for your preparedness this week? (2015-05-02)

The week is nearly past us, but it’s not too late to do something for your own preparedness. We’re living in an uncertain world in uncharted waters. For the astute, there’s realization that those waters are dotted with icebergs. Will the ship that we’re on be able to successfully navigate around them or will we soon hear the gashing of metal?

So, what have you done this week for preparedness?

I did some ‘pressure canning‘ of about 20 pounds of chicken since there was a good sale going on at our local grocery store. We also bought 10 pounds more for the freezer to have on hand.

We bought some more canning jars and lids for future use.

Since the weather cooperated (mostly) and the snow is finally all gone here (we literally had snow on the ground for 5 months!), I finished my electrical wiring changes in the 5th-wheel travel trailer for off-grid capability should I ever need it. We will be moving it to another location soon, for the summer (some getaway trips), and I want it to be ‘preparedness ready’ in more ways than one…

I made a point to walk at least a mile or two a day (almost every day) because I know that health, strength, and stamina is very important not only in good times, but especially if the SHTF… Plus it never hurts to rid one’s self of any excess winter body ‘storage’ 😉

I’ve been making a ‘shopping list’ of extra building materials and extra garden supplies to have on hand, not only for existing projects but for ‘just-in-case’. Now I just need to go out and get them…

Okay, those were a few from me, so what about you?
